In these terms, “Hero Drop”, “we” and “us” mean [STUDIO LEGAL ENTITY], the company that makes and operates Hero Drop. “The Services” means the Hero Drop game, its online servers (Nexus), the Hero Drop Discord bot, the Hero Drop Replay app, the Nexus portal and this website.
1. Accepting these terms
By playing Hero Drop or using the Services you agree to these terms, the Code of Conduct and the Privacy Policy. If you organize a competition, the Competition Terms apply too. [AGE REQUIREMENT and parental consent wording].
The store you got Hero Drop from (for example Meta’s) has its own terms. They apply alongside these.
2. Your licence to play
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to play Hero Drop and use the Services for your own non-commercial entertainment, subject to these terms. You may not:
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the game, its servers or its network protocol, except where the law allows it;
- use cheats, bots, modified clients or automation, or interfere with servers or other players’ connections;
- sell, rent or trade pilots, ratings, items or access;
- use the Services to break the law.
Streaming, videos and competitions are welcome, as described in the creator policy and the Competition Terms.
3. Your pilot
Your pilot is created when you first play. You’re responsible for what happens on it. Don’t share it, and don’t play on anyone else’s in Ranked or a league. Pilot names must follow the Code of Conduct, and we may change or remove names that don’t.
4. Things you create
You keep ownership of what you create (team names, logos, clips and videos). By uploading a name or logo to the Services, you let us display it in the game, in the Nexus portal, in broadcasts and on this website for as long as it’s in use. You confirm you have the right to use what you upload.
5. Online play, Ranked and leagues
Online features depend on our servers and can change, pause or end. Ratings, standings and stats are calculated by our servers, and our records are final, except where we correct an error. We may void results affected by cheating, outages or rule breaches.
6. Purchases and support
[IN-GAME PURCHASES, refunds and virtual items, when they exist.] Patreon memberships are handled by Patreon under its terms. Merch is sold by [MERCH STORE OPERATOR] under its terms.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to online play, Ranked, leagues, the Discord or the bot if you break these terms or the Code of Conduct, or to protect other players. You can stop using the Services at any time, and ask us to delete your data.
8. Our content
Hero Drop, its name, logo, characters, maps, art, music and sound are ours or our licensors’. Nothing in these terms transfers them to you.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. [LIABILITY LIMITS: to be written by counsel for the governing law.] Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.
